President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, assured Nigerians that he would continue to support the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove all impediments that will prevent it from allowing the votes of Nigerians to count in 2011.

Addressing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, in continuation of his presidential campaign, Mr Jonathan also threatened that whoever stands on the way of conducting free, fair and credible elections in 2011 will face the full wrath of the law.

The president also said he would partner with all relevant agencies to harness the agrarian nature of the state to improve semi and mechanized farming in the state in order to engender a paradigm shift from subsistence farming to a reliable modern agricultural practices. "Also, over 50 percent of the population is under 19, so you can now realize that we need to do enough to help the youths of this country and youth empowerment is parts of the cardinal objectives of this administration," he said.
