Aside from the failed campaign of a couple years ago for 5 second ads that played as a site opens, what do you think about audio that plays automatically when someone goes to a site?

I think in some cases it may be alright if it's a music site, but in general I don't think it's a good idea.

I don't think it is a good idea either. Some people may not like the type of music that you automatically play on the site, that would turn them off.

I agree with what told by bluebird. If you still want to put audio on your website, I recommend you to add a audio player that the visitor can pause or stop according to his wish. This is because some don't like hearing music and leave the page fast without reading the content of the page and from my experience adding music will slow down the loading of the web page. I am not sure about this. But all my friends say that it will slow down the loading time.
