To use iTunes to get your iPhone model number, using a good charging cable, connect your iPhone to a computer that has iTunes, launch iTunes and the iPhone will be automatically detected and the icon of the connected iPhone would display at the top left corner of the iTunes panel. On iPhone 7 or earlier (iPhone 6, 5, 4, 3), the iPhone model is printed at the bottom side on the back of the iPhone.
On iPhone 8 or later (iPhone X, 11), the iPhone number is hidden in a different position. Remove the SIM card tray and carefully look in the tray slot, you will find the iPhone model number printed on the display side (upper side) of the SIM card tray.
