According to HootSuite, Facebook is the most used social network in the world in July 2019 even when the company deleted 3 million false accounts, the platform has more than 2.4 billion active users per month. Next is YouTube which is quickly cutting gap since it has already reached 2 billion.
YouTube is fastly growing than the Mark Zuckerberg Social platform and is in the second position among the most used social platforms.
It is worth noting that, TikTok has now broken into the 10 worldwide after the platform garnered 500 million users with its Chinese alter ego, Douyin.
This is demonstrated by the new wave of the report on the State of Social Networks for Q3 of 2019, prepared by Hootsuite and We Are Social that has just been made public and that establishes a ranking with the 18 most used social networks worldwide. The classification is fully updated, since it is based on data obtained on July 15, 2019.
WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and the Chinese instant messaging system WeChat would occupy the rest of the top 5 positions, taking into account that these three are mobile applications with social features, although not social networks as such. In the sixth position would be Instagram with its more than 1,000 million active users per month.
The list includes the ninth position occupied by TikTok and his Chinese alter ego, Douyin, which was not on the charts just a year ago and which sneaks into the top 10 thanks to its 500 million users worldwide.
Twitter, however, is out of it and is ranked 12th, with 330 million users, while Snapchat has 294 million monthly users and is ranked 15th. It should be noted that they are monthly user data since if we talked about unique users daily Snapchat would have enough more than Twitter.
Of the rest of social networks, it is worth mentioning the 14th position of LinkedIn, with 310 million monthly users according to the Hootsuite and We Are Social report, and the 16th position of Pinterest, which has 265 million active users per month.
